The first full weekend in June is the Crazy Horse Volksmarch. These two days are the only days of the year that the general public can hike to the top of the Crazy Horse carving. Since we won't be in the neighborhood next year and we're still avoiding packing more boxes we hiked it Saturday afternoon with 12,000-15,000 of our fellow hikers (really). It's a 6.3mile hike that meanders through the woods and eventually up the back of the carving until you reach the face. 1: Our destination.
